Welcome to Save Cambodia’s Wildlife, a local Cambodian conservation organization providing environmental education, awareness and community outreach programs across Cambodia. We hope that this site will help inform the international community about Cambodia’s remarkable natural heritage and what must be done to save it.

Save Cambodia’s Wildlife implements environmental education and training programs to help protect and conserve Cambodia’s wildlife & natural environment. Our projects combine innovative teacher training, children’s conservation publications and community based natural resource management to raise public awareness of environmental issues and encourage sustainable development in communities. We promote the economic, social and spiritual benefits of a healthy environment with flourishing variety of natural habitats and species.

Dear colleagues, valuable partners and donors, The critical underlying cause of the failure to care for ecosystems and livelihoods adequately has been poor governance. Governance is the set of mechanisms that allows society to define and achieve its goals, and thus is linked closely to how economic growth, poverty, and ecosystem management are addressed.

This Strategic Plan for Save Cambodia’s Wildlife (SCW) is the outcome of an extensive collaborative process of consultation with SCW’s employees, who have helped shape this long-term framework.

A strategic plan is a tool for charting a path into the future. This strategic framework will help guide SCW over the next five years during inevitable socioeconomic and environmental change. It is the product of a dialogue with all SCW employees to examine the organization’s capabilities, anticipate environmental issues, and it describes SCW’s role in providing support & service toward environmental protection.This strategic framework describes how SCW will work towards natural resource conservation and sustainability in Cambodia.This document was shaped in order to guide SCW staff through the maze of decisions during implementation of the programs.

Throughout the workshop, inputs were gathered through group discussions, comments, & other means. Future implementation plans will describe the workforce, facilities, & support staff needed to successfully translate the framework into action.
