Report 1/2016

On 27 May 2016 SCW team lead by Senior Project Officer Mr. YUN Sameth paid a visit to SEDA COMMUNITY to

(i) discuss the ongoing land conflict with Roth Sokhorn company, (ii) give a refresher training on the importance of environmental & forest protection as well as (iii) CPA Do's and Don'ts and finally (iv) collect information about CPA violations.

Report 2/2016

On 31 May 2016 SCW - lead by Project Officers Mr. CHEAN Socheath and Mr. SOTH Phalla together with Mr. THUN Sovanny counterpart from the Departement of Environment (DoE) in Ratanakiri - visited ‪#‎CommunityProtectedArea (CPA) O'TUNG in Veun Sai district.

20+ villagers and representatives from the CPA committee and patrol team (i) attended a refresher training on the importance of environmental and forest protection as well as (ii) Do's and Don'ts in a CPA and (iii) discussed how to protect the remaining Natural Resources and (iv) collect information about CPA violations.

Report 3/2016

On 30 May 2016 SCW - lead by Senior Project Officer Mr. YUN Sameth - visited O'TABOK CPA (Community Protected Area) to conduct a training and make Community Voices heard:

20+ villagers attended the (i) refresher training on the importance of environmental & forest protection and (ii) CPA Do's and Don'ts as well as a (iii) Q&A. In the afternoon, SCW met with 10 representatives of Community Rangers and the Patrol Committee to (i) strengthen their relationship, (ii) record current CPA violations and (iii) discuss a procedure to report future CPA violations.

Report 4/2016

SCW's Project Officer Mr. NEANG Sokhorn visited Seda CPA (Community Protected Area) in Ratanakiri to talk to the villagers and make Community Voices heard.

Villagers reported another case of illegal logging,  where 150 logs (3m x 40cm) were found. Please see the violation reports below.

Report 5/2016

Report 6/2016

On 20 December 2016, Project Officer Mr. NEANG Sokhorn visited the Community Protected Area (CPA) Mondul Yorn in Ratanakiri to talk to the villagers about current issues, their concerns and ongoing problems, in order to assist them and make community voices heard.

The village patrol team found 17 logs (60cm×60cm×5m each), which were illegally cut. A group of 7 people, led by Mr. Lan Em (27) had committed the crime.
